چکیده

In the ray-optics regime, we calculated radial and axial force field on a micron-sized spherical particle in an optical levitation trap. The momentum change photon-stream path of tightly focused incident laser beam causes computational results for are compared with literature good agreement is obtained. Utilizing benchmarked field, trapping dynamics (i) transparent continuous-wave 〖TEM〗_00 Gaussian (ii) reflecting 〖TEM〗_01^* Laguerre-Gaussian under various conditions simulated Matlab.

Real-time optical imaging and tracking of micron-sized particles

We report real-time imaging and dynamics monitoring of micrometer predefined and random sized particles by time–space-wavelength mapping technology using a single-detector. Experimentally, we demonstrate real-time line imaging of a 5 lm polystyrene microsphere, glass powder particles and patterns such as fingerprints with up to 5 lm resolution at 1 line/50 ns capture rate. By using the same set...

Color from hierarchy: Diverse optical properties of micron-sized spherical colloidal assemblies.

Materials in nature are characterized by structural order over multiple length scales have evolved for maximum performance and multifunctionality, and are often produced by self-assembly processes. A striking example of this design principle is structural coloration, where interference, diffraction, and absorption effects result in vivid colors. Mimicking this emergence of complex effects from ...

Optical manipulation of micron/submicron sized particles and biomolecules through plasmonics.

Plasmonics, a rapidly emerging subdiscipline of nanophotonics, is aimed at exploiting surface plasmons for important applications, including sensing, waveguiding, and imaging. Parallel to these research efforts, technology yielding enhanced scattering and absorption of localized surface plasmons (LSPs) provides promising routes for trapping and manipulation of micro and nano scale particles, as...

Stable, Free-space Optical Trapping and Manipulation of Sub-micron Particles in an Integrated Microfluidic Chip

We demonstrate stable, free-space optical trapping and manipulation in an integrated microfluidic chip using counter-propagating beams. An inverted ridge-type waveguide made of SU8 is cut across by an open trench. The design of the waveguide provides low propagation losses and small divergence of the trapping beam upon emergence from the facet, and the trench designed to be deeper and wider tha...
